The Eko Akete Estate is a planned residential community that may contain over 6,000 housing units when completed over the next few years. This is a gated community and entry will be closely monitored. The 2,004 housing units to be built in Phase I will be located in four separate neighborhoods at the north of the Estate. Each neighborhood contains a variety of housing options that range from seven-story high-rise apartments to mid-rise flats and detached single-family houses. Houses are grouped in neighborhoods of 500 units and in small residential blocks to encourage an individual sense of identity, communal interaction, and territorial definition.
A central north-south boulevard starting at the main security entrance acts as a main internal circulation spine for the Estate. The main boulevard connects the four Phase I neighborhoods with the Sports Center, Community Hall, and a major community park. Future neighborhoods will be built to the south and east of Phase I. Two secondary schools will be built in the Estate. One will be located immediately south of Phase I and the second located directly to the east of Phase I. A conference/meeting hotel and golf course will be built at the south end of the Estate.
